#Indianapolis – Perhaps one of the most highly anticipated family events of the year, LEGO KidsFest builds it’s way into the Indiana Convention Center this weekend.
November 7th – 9th, parents will travel from neighboring states with their kids to Indianapolis to join Indy area families for the national LEGO convention, LEGO KidsFest. The three day show is broken into several daily sessions where a limited number of tickets are sold so that all attendees have every opportunity to enjoy an experience that is identical to the experience for other guests – there won’t be too many people during certain hours and fewer during others. Time is built in between sessions for activities and displays to be reset for the next group to come in.
Yes, you can buy LEGO Bricks at LEGO KidsFest but more importantly, the day will be spent playing. There are many play areas set up throughout the convention center and children (and their adults) will get to build and explore with all of the different types of brands and kits and sets that LEGO has to offer. I know that my friend’s children are looking forward to the LEGO Ninjago and Mindstorms play areas. My children will likely create in the LEGO Art Gallery, play with the LEGO Friends people and race LEGO cars. You can bet we’ll be climbing the Big Brick Pile, even if it’s only for the best LEGO photo opportunity of their life.
LEGO Master Builders will be on site with demonstrations and leading special activities. Another cool space I’m looking forward to seeing is the Creation Nation, a map of the US that is the size of a basketball court – attendees get to add to the map a representation of themselves. There will be challenges and battles and races! The model museum will surely be a hit – life size models made from LEGO bricks. Just don’t miss it!
