As part of the Herron School of Art and Design on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University (IUPUI) in downtown Indianapolis, The Herron galleries boast works by students, faculty and alumni in many display areas. The Eleanor Prest Reese & Robert B. Berkshire Galleries, Marsh Gallery, and Frank & Katrina Basile Center provide multiple spaces featuring contemporary art works from members of the Indianapolis art community using varying and mixed media content. Several works are also displayed from nationally and internationally contributing artists. The galleries offer a huge variety of mediums, giving it an honored place among the many other Indianapolis art galleries.
The Herron galleries aim to enrich and expose the cultural contributions of Indianapolis, IUPUI students and the Herron School. Visiting artists will frequently lecture on varying subjects as part of the mission to expand art awareness and knowledge. This goal of community enrichment makes the Herron galleries a unique pillar of Indianapolis art.
As an Indianapolis non-profit organization, The Herron galleries are supported by the Arts Council of Indianapolis, the City of Indianapolis, the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Admission is free, and the space offers a fun attraction for the entire family to enjoy.
