Indianapolis Attractions and Activities – Family Vacation Fun

Indianapolis is home to the two largest single-day sporting events in the world, The Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. People from all over the world flock to Indy for these races, which number more than 250,000 people at each event. Indianapolis is also the city that holds the NCAA Hall of Champions, which is the headquarters of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Indy also is home to one of the most unique museums in the world, not to mention other Indianapolis museums. The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is five fully-interactive levels of youth-oriented, educational fun, one of the favorite things to do in Indianapolis for the entire family.

Some of the more fabulous Indianapolis shopping malls, such as the Circle Centre Mall downtown, have become Indianapolis tourism attractions in their own rights. Whether you want to make a day of it taking in some great Indianapolis fun spot, enjoying a well-known Indianapolis restaurant, or getting in the groove of Indianapolis nightlife at one of the famous Indianapolis hotels, or even if you live year-round in “Naptown,” there’s never “nothing to do.”

	American Cabaret Theatre – Once housed in the historic Athenaeum Building, but still within the bounds of downtown Indianapolis, the ACT presents well-honed professional theater musicals in a cabaret setting, and is always a fun Indianapolis thing to do.
	Athenaeum Building Inside the heart of the city in downtown Indianapolis, this historic gathering place represents one of the oldest culture spots in the Midwest. 	North Meridian Street – A Historic District that has been preserved for all to enjoy.
	Beef and Boards Dinner Theater offers a complete night out. They serve you classic food while you enjoy a classic show.
	Broad Ripple Park – This extraordinarily beautiful park is a place for athletic fields, picnic grounds, trails, a dog park, fishing, boating, swimming and a family center. Many Indianapolis events and much of Indianapolis’ nightlife gravitate to the upbeat Broad Ripple Village neighborhood.

	Garfield Park Conservatory and Sunken Garden – Garfield Park is home to one of the most-visited conservatories in the country, containing 10,000 square feet of carefully tended botanical marvels and other living things, such as the many birds and small animals that reside there.
	ArtCraft Theatre – See this historic and nostalgic piece of architecture and attend one of the classic movies put on inside. Located just minutes south of downtown Indianapolis in the nearby suburb of Franklin, in Central Indiana.

	Allstate 400 at the Brickyard – This world-famous auto racing venue, set in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is presented annually for over a quarter million fans, making the Allstate 400 the most popular of all NASCAR races and the highest attended event for Indianapolis fun.
	The Indianapolis 500 Some of the most exciting moments in sports on the planet occur every Memorial Day weekend in Indianapolis at the ultra-famous Motor Speedway. This summertime spectacle is much-anticipated all year round. 	Fort Harrison State Park and Fort Golf Course – Located in northeast Indianapolis, this park was commissioned by the United State Army in 1908 and named for President Benjamin Harrison.
