A popular feature within White River State Park, Indiana‘s largest urban park setting and the biggest park in Indianapolis, is the Lawn at White River State Park. This outdoor concert venue was opened in 2003 in Indianapolis to bring residents and visitors an opportunity for live entertainment in an expansive outdoor setting. With immediate success evident by both ticket sales and a 2006 Pollstar Magazine rating in the top 100 concert venues in the world, the Lawn at White River State Park is one of many exciting Indianapolis attractions.

In 2007, the Lawn at White River State Park added a VIP section, which included tiered and reserved seating for 200 spectators, and a new seasonal stage, which gave the venue a more permanent feel and provided signed artists with easier access for performances. With a seating capacity of about 6000 and popular artists such as The Fray, Alice Cooper, Allison Krauss & Union Station, Bob Dylan, and Incubus, the Lawn at White River State Park has become a hot spot of Indianapolis nightlife and a haven for Indianapolis music. In fact, attendance doubled during the 2007 season compared to the previous year.

Though lawn seating is a great choice for any performance, especially for Indianapolis children, insiders at the Lawn at White River State Park like to point out that if acoustics are important to your personal experience, the VIP section is the place to be.
The concert season at the Lawn runs all summer and is booked by Live Nation. For ticket information visit Live Nation’s homepage or call the VIP Hotline at (317) 249-2756.
