NCAA Hall of Champions

The NCAA Hall of Champions, located just west of downtown Indianapolis in White River State Park, is an Indianapolis museum, conference and exhibition center highlighting the accomplishments of college athletes in the United States. This 30,000 square foot, two level venue features inspiring theater presentations, as well as tributes to former and current NCAA student athletes. The overall goal of the Hall of Champions is to show an appreciation for the trials, hard work, and accomplishments of student athletes. Indianapolis sports are huge, and the city’s college teams are no exception. There’s no better place than Indianapolis to honor the NCAA tradition.

Interactive exhibits engage visitors in the NCAA Hall of Champions and provide a firsthand perspective of what it means to be a student athlete. The best of all college sports has been captured under one roof in the Hall of Champions. The 10 million dollar structure, constructed in 2000, is also home of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Headquarters.

NCAA-National-Headquarters-IndianapolisThe Great Hall provides visitors a first impression not to be forgotten. This massive room displays banners of the 88 NCAA national championships. A video display shown beneath a hanging scoreboard provides an inside view of 14 NCAA sports through the “Look Up to the Champions” presentation. The Great Hall alone makes the Hall of Champions one of the greatest things to do in Indianapolis, but there’s still so much more to see!

Three separate theaters offer a unique perspective into the student athlete experience. The Champions Theater uses the theme of what it takes to be a champion in the world of collegiate sports, and gives the answer through a presentation of the lives of several student athletes. The March Madness Theater puts visitors in the midst of men’s and women’s March Madness basketball tournament. The Locker Room Theater depicts the life of collegiate athletics through the perspectives of several championship winning coaches and several real life student athletes. Only in the NCAA Hall of Champions can you get a front row view of college basketball in Indianapolis and around the nation.

Another must see Indianapolis attraction in the NCAA Hall of Champions is the replica 1930’s gymnasium located on the second floor of the facility. The Hall also features 25,000 square feet of exhibit space, as well as a variety of kiosks, interactive games, activities, and hands-on displays. There is something for every sports enthusiast at the Hall of Champions; all 23 sports in Division I, II, and III are represented in the various displays and presentations.
