Though this sector of Indiana is fairly dominated by all the venues, Indianapolis attractions and activities surrounding the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, West Indianapolis parks certainly offer indisputable value in their own right.

Eagle Creek Park – One of the largest urban parks in the United States, Eagle Creek boasts the Earth Music Center for concerts and special Indianapolis events, the Earth Discovery Center, the Indianapolis Rowing Center, the Marina Music Stage, the Marsh & Bird Sanctuary, the Ornithology Center, the Peace Learning Center, a pistol and archery range, retreat centers and a full 36-hole golf course. Here you can find swimming, boating, camping, hiking, biking and trail walking opportunities amidst enormous stands of hardwood trees, rolling lawns and meadows. Over 500,000 visitors enjoy the park every year. |

Indianapolis O’Reilly Raceway Park – The hugely popular Indianapolis 500-mile auto race and other racing events in Indianapolis’ west suburb, Speedway, Indiana, have spilled out of the boundaries of the city and created yet another racing arena, O’Reilly Raceway Park. Known for decades as Indianapolis Raceway Park, the O’Reilly Raceway covers some 300 acres with a racing facility that hosts all types of auto racing, showcased by the Indy Grand Prix. |
