Michal Lile | Indianapolis Artist

Michal Lile works in abstract, formalism and non-objective media to produce his “concepts in paint.” It is his intention for his work to be a jumping-off point for further dialogue about the ideas they provoke.

Michal’s formal education in the creation of fine art has him on solid footing; he holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and one in art education from Purdue University in Indiana. He currently teaches media arts and visual communications at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and is renowned in the Indiana art community.

Michal Lile’s work has earned numerous awards, including the IPL Golden Apple award from 2004. It manifests his own fascination with concepts, how they are born from the abstract and come into being as something we can communicate to one another through art.

Among Indianapolis artists, Michal is coming into his own. His work is as highly respected as he is, and he returns the sentiment. In his words, “I do these things in honor of life and love.”
