University of Indianapolis Men’s Track and Field: Tough Competition

The University of Indianapolis men’s track and field team competes each year for the coveted Great Lakes Valley Conference championship title and has a reputation around Indianapolis for being a tough team to beat.  The Greyhounds are led by Head Coach Scott Fangman and Assistant Coaches Giles Davis, Dave Holman, and Kathy Casey.

This Indianapolis sports team has superstar standouts no matter the category or event, be it long distance, middle distance, sprints, jumps, or pole vaulting. The team is a well-rounded group with senior leadership and some solid freshman talent.

The UIndy men’s track and field team competes from the bitter cold month of December all the way through the end of May.  The Greyhounds host several invitational tournaments, including the Gerald England Invite which is held on campus at Key Stadium, just a few minutes directly south of beautiful downtown Indianapolis.
The University of Indianapolis men’s track and field team is pure joy to watch in action and shouldn’t be missed by any college sports fanatic.  The Greyhounds boast several native Indianapolis athletes, including sophomore jumpers Bryan Back and Carl Jones, graduates of Roncalli High School and Warren Central High School respectively.

There are lots of chances throughout the year to see this team compete, so next time you’re looking for things to do in Indianapolis, become part of the action and root on the Greyhounds as they take on some of the region’s top talent.
