Joshua Bell with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Sell Out

Indianapolis music fans have shown their support for one of the Hoosier State’s most famed sons: Joshua Bell. The “Indiana Living Legend” and recipient of an Indiana Governor’s Arts Award, Joshua Bell will be bringing his exceptional talent to Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis for a sold out performance with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra this weekend.

Joshua Bell, a graduate of and senior lecturer at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, will be performing “Meditation” by Massenet, Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, and Scottish Fantasy. Conducting the performance will be Ludovic Morlot, who will include pieces from The Damnation of Faust and Der Rosenkavalier. The performance is part of the ISO’s Lilly Classical Series, which has included works by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, and more.

Joshua Bell is a world renowned violinist who first appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra at the age of fourteen. He debuted at Carnegie Hall in 1985, and has performed in both new and classical works. He plays with a 300 year old Stradivarius violin worth over 4 million dollars. Joshua Bell recently performed at the White House, and this homecoming with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra promises to be a major Indianapolis event.
