Moscow Ballet Brings Nutcracker to Indy

Indianapolis hosts a special treat this holiday season. The Moscow Ballet will share their world-renowned Russian dancing with the Circle City in their production of The Nutcracker this Sunday, December 6. This Nutcracker is like none other, and brought to Indy by the International Center of Indianapolis. For one night only, the Moscow Ballet will wow Indianapolis people with their disciplined and graceful dance moves.

The Moscow Ballet re-imagines the classic tale of The Nuctcracker in their traveling show. Set in front of Valentin Fedorov’s amazing hand painted backdrops and and with life size dancing puppets, this Russian Nutcracker is sure to delight audiences of all ages. What makes this production particular distinct from other Nutcrackers is the introduction of the “Land of Peace and Harmony” and the new character, a Christmas Dove.

The dancers in this ballet are some of the top talents in Russia right now. Graduates of Perm, Vaganova, Moscow State Academic Choreographic and Kiev schools, they move with all the grace and beauty of a snowflake. Described as “breathtaking,” “flawless” and “dazzling,” the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is one of the hottest Indianapolis arts events this week.
