Trans-Siberian Orchestra Rocks Indy For Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching, and all the fun holiday Indianapolis events are wrapping up. But there is time for one last hurrah! Celebrate the season with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra this Wednesday, December 23 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis downtown. This Indianapolis music event is a major asset to Hoosier holiday celebration, and is sure to break down the house in true rock and roll style.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra formed in 1996 under the leadership of composer Paul O’Neill. Their musical style incorporates a plethora of musical genres. They blend progressive rock, symphonic metal, heavy metal and classical music with unbelievable results. Their touring band includes fourteen vocalist, fourteen musicians and two narrators. On top of that, they employ a full light show and dozens of pyrotechnics that are synchronized with the performance.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra first took to the road in 1999. They amazed audiences across the United States. Because of their wild success, they formed an additional touring band to cover more ground during their short touring season (which corresponds with the holidays each year). The Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert offers an experience like no other. Their concert is organized into two parts. The first half is based on their popular Christmas Eve and Other Stories album. A unique story paired with classic Chrismas carols in their unique style makes for a riveting opening to the show.

The second half of the show uses songs from their albums The Christmas Attic, Beethoven’s Last Night and The Lost Christmas Eve. In addition, they include a few miscellaneous covers. And of course, they save the best for last. At the end of their show they rock out to “Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo 12/24,” their debut single that shot them to super stardom. Since that beloved song debut 14 years ago, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has had outstanding success.

Their concerts have become a top touring act throughout the world. Spending more than $20 million dollars to bring their touring experience together has been well worth it to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They have played to over five million people in more than eighty cities around the nation. That is more than $230 million in tickets alone! But perhaps their biggest claim to fame is being featured in the viral video of the crazy Christmas house, in which lights were synced to their “Wizards in Winter.”
