Spring Cleaning Opens February 12, 2010

Its not quite spring yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early for spring cleaning. Theatre on the Square presents Spring Cleaning February 12 through 21, 2010; this collection of eight original plays is an Indianapolis performing arts event not to be missed! Tickets for Indianapolis people are $25.00 and $20.00 for students and military personnel. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm.

Theatre on the Square presents “an evening of eight, original, inspired, short one act plays.” The collection of scripts, written by a Hoosier playwrights, has something for everyone. The inventive ideas of Indiana playwrights are given voice and form in Theatre on the Square’s production of Spring Cleaning. The Shakespearean Tragedy of McCain by Greg Ellis is an innovative retelling of MacBeth that collides with the ex-Presidential candidate Senator John McCain. Other titles include Nasal Hygiene by Pat McGeever, Making Friends by Alice Caroline, Beneath the Water Lilies and Three Little Words by Madge Dishman, Confiteor by Pat McGeever and Robert Morse’s A Dream Fulfilled and Pandora’s Other Box.

From zany farces to poignant observations, the premiere of these new plays is sure to satisfy. Choose your favorite, rank them in order and discuss with your date! Debate the merits of McCain a la MacBeth as you enjoy a slice of Indianapolis culture at Theatre on the Square. Performed in the intimate cabaret theatre, Spring Cleaning is produced in association with the Rachel McGeever Fund.
