After releasing his third album Radio Show a little over a year ago, Tony DeSare has been crossing the United States sharing standards, classics and pop songs with America. He belongs to the neo-traditional uprising in the vein of Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Buble. His concerts are joyful, with a wry playfulness as he easily transitions from standards by George Gershwin in one moment to classics by Bob Dylan and even pop songs by Prince.

The New York Times called DeSare, “one of the most promising young male performers. He is a Sinatra acolyte in his early 30s who sings Prince as well as Johnny Mercer.” Born in Glen Falls, New York, Tony’s early life was characterized by a musical family. He began singing and playing piano professionally when he was only 17. By the time he reached college, Tony DeSare had already opened for visiting headliners, creating a strong regional following for himself.

In 1999, DeSare moved to New York city where he landed a role in the Off-Broadway hit musical Our Sinatra. Variety instantly recognized his “dapper charm” in the role. In addition to being a tremendous singer and piano player, Tony DeSare is an accomplished composer. His work on the music for the 2004 documentary My Date With Drew garnered him national attention.

In 2002, Tony had the pleasure of performing at the legendary Apollo Theatre. It was there that he met the jazz guitar icon Bucky Pizzarelli. The two formed an instant bond and have been touring together ever since. Don’t miss your chance to be serenaded by this song bird, as he helps love birds celebrate Valentine’s Day.
