Auggie Smith On Stage at Crackers Comedy Club Downtown

Have your funny bone tickled this week at one of the best Indianapolis comedy clubs. Auggie Smith headlines Crackers Comedy Club in Indianapolis downtown April 28 through May 1, bringing loudmouthed hilarity to the Circle City. Tickets for this Indianapolis event range from $10.00 to $20.00. Show times are as early as 8:00 pm to as late as 10:30 pm. Auggie Smith started his stand up career at the young age of nineteen, when he moved from Billings, Montana to Portland Oregon to make it big. After a few years of epic failure, Smith finally won some acclaim by taking first place in the 1994 Sam Adams Comedy Contest. This big win earned him his first national exposure on television with an appearance on Evening at the Improv. His comedy voice took root inside of him in 1997, when he came in second to the legendary Mitch Hedberg at the Seattle Comedy Competition. The second place spot came with an invitation to the 1998 Montreal Comedy Festival, where he performed a remarkable twelve shows.

From their Auggie Smith jumped onto the national touring circuit crossing the United States one comedy club at a time. One January in 2004, Auggie found an entirely new fan base with a now infamous appearance on “The Bob and Tom Show,” heard in Indianapolis on WFBQ. His morning interview was a well blended mixture of signature rants and quick witted improv, highlighting his sharp point of view. It has been replayed numerous times as one of the funniest moments on their show. With that, he was invited to tour the nation on the Bob and Tom Comedy Tour, where his radio interview easily translated to a big stage presence.

In 2006, he filmed national television performances fro Comedy Central’s “Bob and Tom All Stars” and “Live at Gotham.” The next year he made a brief, but very memorable appearance on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” In 2008, this funny man performed at the Rooftop Aspen Comedy Festival, where he was voted Club Comic of the Year by club owners.
