Motus Dance Theatre’s Pairings: A Dance Fundraiser

Motus Dance Theatre offers interesting Indianapolis art to the Indianapolis community year round. But this Indianapolis nonprofit organization needs help to continue producing seminal dance productions, in an effort to vitalize Indianapolis performing arts. Friday, June 18, Motus Dance Theatre hosts Pairings, a dance fundraiser and silent auction to garner support from Indianapolis people. In a lovely evening of wine and dance, Motus Dance Theatre will give patrons a sneak peak at original choreography, as attendees enjoy an selection of hor d’oeuvres and wine while they peruse silent auction items.

The members of Motus Dance Theatre present an elegant evening of mingling, music and dance to help raise funds for their upcoming season. American Culinary Federation Gold Medal Winner, Chef James Chantanasombut, will prepare a selection of gourmet hors d’oeuvres to compliment a generous variety of fine wines. The evening, which contains a Silent Auction, will be rounded out by six newly choreographed dances and original music compositions by Kate Lamon. Guests will then enjoy a five star dinner, followed by entertainment by Indianapolis artist and musician Brenda Williams.

Guests will not want to miss the Silent Auction, which offers a great chance to support an Indianapolis theatre organization while receiving a token of appreciation in return. The list of more than twenty Indianapolis businesses who have donated items to the silent auction include Big Hat Books, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, City Yoga, Dance Kaleidoscope, Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Zoo. Other contributors include the Old National Center (formerly the Murat Theatre), Yats Cajun Cuisine, Microsoft, the Indianapolis Indians, the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Pixie Salon and L. Severson Portraits.

The proceeds of each item up for auction benefit Motus Dance Theatre directly. There are a number of ways to support this Indianapolis arts organization, tailored to your ability. $75.00 buys one ticket to the event, wine, hors d’oeuvres, original dance and music.
