Free Family Concert at the Indiana History Center June 26

Indianapolis kids are out of school and kicking around the house with nothing to do. As their brains lapse into video games and television, it can be difficult for them to pick back up at Indianapolis schools come September. Indianapolis Early Music offers a stimulating Indianapolis music experience designed to engaged families and educated new listeners about early music history. Saturday, June 26, Ensemble Viscera of Indianapolis Early Music will give a FREE Family Concert at the Indiana History Center. This Indianapolis event, which begins at 10:00 am, will perk up little ears, and churn small minds with an introduction to the courtly music of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Admission is absolutely FREE.

Indianapolis Early Music specializes in keeping early European musical traditions alive. This weekend Ensemble Viscera illuminates the Renaissance Courtier Songs and Instrumental music of the sixteenth century. Hear the music which filled the English royal halls with merriment and ritual through the end of the Tudor dynasty. Imagine yourself a Lord or Lady of King Henry VIII court as you enjoy Ensemble Viscera’s FREE Family Concert at the Indiana History Center.

Fans of the Showtime series “The Tudors” will marvel at Ensemble Viscera’s talent to transport their audience back to a time of ruling monarchs. Whether dancing in court or feasting during holidays, this early music tradition provided primary sources of entertainment for nobles.
