Wright Brothers Band at Beef and Boards: Race Day Tradition

Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre continues its race day tradition with a concert from Indianapolis music’s The Wright Brothers Band Sunday, May 29 at 8 pm. This homegrown Hoosier band offers a gentle mix of bluegrass, country, pop and gospel standards. Dinner and a show has never been more conveinent than at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. This incredible Indianapolis theatre venue, located north of Indianapolis downtown, offers solid middle American entertainment for the masses.

The Wright Brothers Band, formerly known as The Wright Brothers Overland Stage Company, first got together in 1972. This Indiana based music group performs a wide gamete of songs from the 1920s to the present day. Fans love these rockers on stage because they know that each concert will contain something for everyone in their party. They first gained popularity with the release of “Made in the USA,” which celebrated companies that continued to manufacture products in the United States.
The Wright Brothers Band are a favorite of the notorious Grand Ole Opry in Tennessee. In addition, the group has performed on NBC’s “The Today Show,” and have appeared on Nashville Now twelve times. In the eighties, the group had record contracts with Warner Bros. and Mercury records. During that time, they produced nine singles that reached Billboards Hot Country Singles chart. Their only album “Easy Street,” was released in 1984. However, the group did record the song “Shot Down in Hot Blood” in 1987 for the Goldie Hawn film Overboard, in which they also played live.

The Beef and Boards tradition of welcoming The Wright Brothers Band to the stage on race day has become a favorite of Indianapolis theatre audiences. This year is no exception. The concert will include songs from their latest album “The Wright Brothers Live from French Lick.” Now available, the CD features a live recording of 21 songs that were presented during the Hoosier Jubilee radio show.

Recorded at the historic Indiana hotel French Lick, the Hoosier Jubilee radio show aligns perfectly with The Wright Brothers playing a mix of bluegrass, country and classic rock and roll from over five decades of American music. Join Tim Wright, Tom Wright, John McDowell, Frank Bradford, Bryan Chrisman and Tim’s daughters Emily and Lauren on stage at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre this race day to celebrate May in Indiana.

Doors open at 6 pm. Dinner is served before the show at 6:30 pm, and the performance begins at 8 pm. Tickets to this Indianapolis event range from $28 to $39.
