So You Want to Write a Novel – The Writer’s Center of Indiana continues the tradition of great Hoosier bards by sparking creativity in everyday people. The next great American novel is out there. Maybe its in your head. Find out how to put pen to paper and let it all out at this Writer’s Center workshop led by Barbara Shoup. Shoup leads would-be novelists through the craft of novel writing. Using writing exercises, focused reading and class discussions, the workshop helps writers tap into their inner creativity.

Making Memoirs, Making Sense – Everyone has a story to tell. And every story told offers a lesson to listeners. Learn how to weave your personal life experiences into a rich tapestry of the written word. This introduction to the memoir is lead by Lyn Jones, who aims to help you find the voice to tell your own story. She’ll set you on the right path. Then all you have to do is write. Writing for Magazines and Newspapers – Do you dream of writing headlines? Creating covers? Seeing your byline in print? The world of freelance writing is an alluring, yet tumultuous sea to navigate. Get some help with interviewing skills, pitching and marketing feature stories, writing profiles of people and places and brainstorming ideas that bound of trends and current events.
