Savor Some of Indy’s Finest Cuisine at Devour Downtown

devour downtownTime to call a few friends and head to downtown Indianapolis, ‘cause the annual Devour Downtown festival is underway.

Around 64 downtown restaurants will be participating in this year’s event, which will last 14 days, from January, 21 through February, 3, 2013. If you’ve looking for a reason to head downtown in the winter, Devour Downtown it a great opportunity to savor some of the finest cuisine in the downtown Indy area. Participating restaurants will offer multi-course lunch and dinner menus at a special price of $30.  

Devour Downtown will be giving away several $30 gift certificates, one per day, throughout the course of Devour Downtown. An entry form is available on the Devour Downtown website (below).

A cocktail contest was held to see who could come up with the best cocktail recipe based on 3 different categories of liquor: Tequila, Whisky and Vodka. Finalists were chosen, and winners declared. The winners of the cocktail contest will serve up their winning recipes throughout the entire event. Eleisa of Rock Harry & Izzy’s won both the “1800 Tequila” and “Canadian Club Whisky” contest, while Bryce Tremont of Lorenzo’s Ristorante won the “Grey Goose Vodka” contest.

Among the 64 downtown restaurants participating in this year’s event are Barcelona Tapas, California Pizza Kitchen, Colts Grille, Columbia Club, Eagle’s Nest, Greek Islands, Lorenzo’s Ristorante, Maxines, Morton’s Steakhouse, Oceanaire, R Bistro, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Shula’s, Slippery Noodle and The Capital Grill and Turners. Devour Downtown is Indianapolis’ biggest food and drink showcase. It happens twice per year, in winter and summer. It is presented by the Indianapolis Downtown Restaurant & Hospitality Association (IDRHA), a chapter of the Indiana Restaurant Association.
