The Indianapolis Sport, Fitness & Hobby Show at the State Fairground

sport-fitness-and-hobby-showOne of the largest and most exciting sport shows in Central Indiana is coming to Indianapolis this weekend. The Indianapolis Sport, Fitness & Hobby Show will take place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from Saturday, June 22 through Sunday, June 23, 2013.

This amazing show will feature over 300 local & national exhibitors, including the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indy Eleven, Indiana Ice, Skydive Indianapolis, Midwest Fight Series, IU Natatorium, Core Power, and Title Boxing Club to name just a few.

This all-indoor event will showcase the latest in sport, fitness and hobby related products and services. Every sport will be included and there will be live, interactive demonstrations of products and equipment, as well as celebrity appearances, a silent auction, health screenings and other running events.

Special celebrity appearances include the UFC’s Chris “Lights Out” Lytle, Indiana basketball legend George McGinnis, the Indiana Pacemates (yowza!!) and Pacers’ mascot “Boomer. IMS Motorcars from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be on display.

Over 20 different sports will be represented, including football, golf, auto racing, martial arts, extreme sports, hunting, wrestling and gymnastics to name just a few. The fitness category includes running, biking & cycling, cardio & endurance training, strength & muscle training, relaxation & aromatherapy and weightlifting and many others.  Hobby categories include memorabilia &collectors, travel &leisure, gaming &innovation, movies, music &electronics, DIY &antiques, performing arts & dancing and man caves. There are too many to list here.

A Silent Auction will benefit two local charities: Smile Bright for Brittany Bright exists to help young Brittany, who was born prematurely in 2008 and was diagnose with cerebral palsy shortly after birth. She is described as a very happy and energetic little girl. The Matthew Ellis Foundation hopes to raise much needed funds for Matthew, who had a brain tumor removed at an early age. He was recently diagnosed with another tumor and suffers from seizures which render him unable to work.
