This evening marks the opening for renowned local artist, Marianne Glick’s, gallery tour that will run from October 7th through November 17th at Clowes Memorial Hall. The opening reception is open to the community and will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Don’t forget to register for the event here. The tour, titled Let the Spirit Move You, explores how art creates spiritual and emotional connections.
Marianne often paints her abstract masterpieces while listening to music to keep the inspiration and creativity flowing. Pulling from the emotions of the music, she then creates a visual representation of that emotion on her canvases. Living a life full of joy, it’s easy to see how that joy is then shared with those who view her works. Marianne hopes that people’s spirits are moved as they observe the art on this gallery tour.
Marianne began painting back in 2004 to take up a hobby that would give her a positive outlet during the winter months. She started by taking photographs of flowers from her garden during the summer and then worked to recreate the beautiful flowers in her paintings. In more recent years, her art has evolved into a style that is more abstract and she’s taken numerous classes to grow her abstract and non-objective techniques. Combining watercolor, acrylic and collage, Marianne’s art exudes her personal vibrancy and passion for life. A philanthropist at heart, she often donates her paintings to give back to the community and local non-profit organizations.
