With these ridiculously frigid temps that seem to be here to stay in the tri-state area, we’re all looking for ways to stay warm. Second Helpings is hosting their third annual Souper Bowls this Saturday where you can warm your belly with samples of soup prepared by some of the areas best chefs.
2014 Featured Chefs:
Chef Miguel Cordero – Delicia
Chef Greg Hardesty – Recess
Chef Roger Hawkins (2013 Souper Bowls Champion) – Circle City Soups
Chef Chip Huckaby – Barto’s Catering and Concessions
Chef Kathy Jones (2012 Souper Bowls Champion) – Junonia Fish Market
Chef Ryan Nelson – Late Harvest Cafe
After tasting each soup you’ll have a chance to vote for your favorite and the top chef will be awarded a trophy and Souper Bowl bragging rights. Votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced at 1:45pm.
Not only will you get to taste several different delicious types of soup at the event, but you’ll also be making a difference. All proceeds from ticket and ceramic pottery sales will go to fighting poverty and hunger in the Central Indiana area. You can buy tickets online for $10 a piece and children under 5 can attend for free.
