"King Richard" to Appear at 55th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts "World of Wheels" Car Show

The 55th annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels car show takes place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds now through Sunday, February 9, 2014, and will feature special celebrity appearances by former Colts linebacker Gary Brackett, and none other than 7-time NASCAR champion, Richard Petty, a.k.a., “King Richard” himself.

FunCityFinder was on site as they prepared for the show. We took a few shots, and gathered as much info as we could.

Celebrity appearances aside, this show is first and foremost about cars, trucks and motorcycles—but mostly cars. Expect to see some sweet hot rods, customs, Resto Mods and other beautifully restored classics on display at the Blue Ribbon, Champions and South Pavilions. In fact, Word of Wheels is the state’s largest indoor custom car, truck and motorcycle show.

The Bar’s Leaks monster truck will be on display through the course of the show. This awesome display of engineering is a sight to behold. It represents a blueprint for the kind of success Bar’s Leaks has had in so many monster truck competitions, with multiple driver victories.

Other special car themed sections include “Wild, Wild Horses” 50th Anniversary Mustang exhibit, “British Invasion”, “Alive in ’55” and “Motorama 1962.”

One example of the kind of cool cars you can expect at the show is this sweet 1969 GTO Judge Ram Air IV, dubbed “Judge Mental.” This bright orange masterpiece is a is a true GTO built as a tribute to the great 1969 Judge GTO. It rocks with 14X20 rear wheels, an adjustable suspension on all four corners and 19X9’s on the front. Inside is a custom dash, a front-to-back console, and custom bucket seats in front and back. The instrumentation includes custom gauges with the JudgeMENTAL logo on the faces. The engine cranks out an amazing 665HP and 650lbs of torque.

In addition to cars, there are even a few motorcycles, one of which harkens to a simpler era in motorcycle production. This bike is just waiting to be brought back to life with a restoration.
