Internet Cat Video Festival Coming to Indianapolis

cat-videosSpay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI) today announced it is joining with IndyFringe to present a unique experience that combines feline fun with an evening at the movies at the Internet Cat Video Festival, a compilation of some of the funniest cat videos the Internet has to offer.

The film will run in Indianapolis for a limited time and only through the IndyFringe festival in August.
“We’re delighted to be a community partner of IndyFringe,” said Cheri Storms, Board President of SNSI. “There are so many great events for dog lovers, but this fun IndyFringe event is all about cats and the crazy, hilarious things they do. Their playful attitude is very much in keeping with the tone of the IndyFringe festival. “For attendees that like to dress the part, we’re inviting everyone to tap into their creative side,” Storms continued. “In other cities where the festival has been shown, many have donned animal prints, whiskers and, in some cases, head-to-toe costumes.”

“The Internet Cat Video Festival began as a simple experiment at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis to take the joy of watching cat videos into a real world collective experience,” explained Scott Stulen, creator and producer of the Internet Cat Video Festival and recently-appointed Curator of Audience Experience and Performance at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. “The festival resonated, and since 2012, the film has been shown to tens of thousands of feline film fanatics in the United States, Canada and Europe. Indianapolis was one of the first cities to reach out about showing the film after its debut and I am very excited the film will finally be presented to audiences in my new hometown.”

Screenings will take place at the Athenaeum Theatre in downtown Indianapolis on the following dates and times:

  • Aug. 17th at 3 and 5pm
  • Aug. 22 at 7 and 9pm
  • Aug. 23 at 5, 7 and 9pm
  • Aug. 24 at 3 and 5pm

Tickets may be purchased online at . Tickets are priced at $10 for adults, $8 for students and $6 for children under the age of 12.
