CANstruction Competition at the Indiana State Fair

There’s a section of the ag-hort building at the Indiana State Fair dedicated to canned good sculptures. Among the eclectic collection of blue ribbon winners stands a giant Olaf constructed entirely of canned foods. You can admire the stunning displays and vote for your favorite team.

We chose the TARDIS and Olaf, but my favorite part is what happens when the fair ends. CANstruction competitions are held at large events throughout the country as a way to stock food pantries. After the event, all canned goods used in the construction are donated to local food banks. Here in Indianapolis, Gleaner’s will be the recipient of all those cans.
