2014 Indiana State Fair Is a Wrap

Indiana-State-Fair-MidwayThe 2014 Indiana State Fair is officially in the books, and with over 950,000 visitors, it is the third largest attendees fair in history. We accounted for a tiny portion of those visits and loved every minute. The farm babies were adorable, as always. The award-winning produce, animals, home goods, and oddities were super fun to see. The food was simply amazing. And, Midway Kids’ Day was a huge hit.

Here are a few highlights from the best 17 days in Indianapolis:

2014 Indiana State Fair Queen, Alyssa Garnett, also won the annual celebrity cow-milking competition.

Our kids enjoyed a very full $15 kids’ wristband day (Mondays at the state fair).

Lemonade shakeups, Italian sausages, and cotton candy are classic fair foods we can never seem to avoid.

Did you get to ride the Big Wheel this year? Amazing views of Indianapolis.

Photo-bombing baby birds were one of my favorite farm animals this year!

The CANstruction competition collected thousands of canned foods for Gleaner’s Food Bank.

Barenaked Ladies were the highlight of the free stage at the Indiana State Fair.
