  Ted Allen – Here is a rising star on television’s Food Network, instantly recognizable across the United States as host of Chopped and culinary judge and expert. Allen has made his mark in print journalism as well, as a culinary reporter.
  Steve Allee, a graduate of Ben Davis High School, is a celebrated jazz musician and composer. He has collaborated with Slide Hampton, the Buddy Rich Orchestra (at age 19), Ed Thigpen, Tim Hagans, Bobby Shew, and many others. He is the current music director for The Bob and Tom Show.
  Abraham Benrubi is best known for his fifteen-year stint in the enormously popular television series ER, in which he played Jerry, the big guy at the desk. Nevertheless, his resume includes dozens of other role in television and in film.
  Bob & Tom – Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold comprise the namesake of the Bob & Tom Show, the area’s most popular morning radio program. The duo has been on the air on WFBQ-FM 94.7 since the early 1980’s.
  Steve Burton, an Indianapolis-born actor, has played the role of Jason Morgan in the famous daytime dramas General Hospital and General Hospital: Nightshift for nearly an entire generation of avid fans.
  Dave Calabro is a local sportscaster for Channel 13 WTHR Eyewitness News and provides dedicated coverage of the biggest spectacle in racing, the Indy 500, each May. Calabro’s voice is one of the best-known in Indianapolis media.
  Joyce Anne DeWitt – This actress from Speedway, Indiana is best known for her roles in popular television comedies, including Three’s Company, The Love Boat, With This Ring, and Finder of Lost Loves.
  Frances Farmer – Famous on the silver screen, she was immortalized by Jessica Lange in the movie Frances. Though Frances Farmer was portrayed as insane and lobotomized, it was never substantiated.
  Steve Inskeep – Steve Inskeep is famed for his incisive commentary and global interviews on National Public Radio’s program called Morning Edition. A highly respected radio broadcaster and personality.

  Howard Kellman – Kellman has been the “Voice of Indianapolis Indians” since 1974. He is a member of the Indiana Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame.
  Bob Kravitz – Kravitz is the lead sports columnist for the Indianapolis Star and the former host of the “Kravitz and Eddie Show” on WFNI 1070 The Fan.
  Kevin Lee is an Indianapolis sports announcer that covers a variety of sporting events throughout the Circle City.
  David Letterman – A household name all over the world, Letterman is a renowned stand-up comic, entertaining television personality and the host of NBC’s Late Night show.
  Jake Lloyd, a famous film actor before he even became a teenager, graduated from Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. He is best known for his role as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel, Star Wars Episode I: The Pantom Menace.
  Carolene Mays is the editor in chief of the Indianapolis Recorder, the oldest surviving African American publication in the world.
  Dorothy Mengering – Known widely as “Dave’s Mom,” Mengering is the famous mother of superstar television host, David Letterman, and a frequent guest on the Late Show. She is now one of the most famous of Carmel residents.
  Tommy O’Haver – Notable film director and screenwriter who grew up in Carmel, O’Haver’s most famous film to date is An American Crime, based on the true story of Sylvia Likens’ torture and murder by Gertrude Baniszewski in 1965 Indianapolis.
  Mark Patrick – Currently the host of Mark Patrick on Sports, a drive-time sports radio program on 1260-AM WNDE, Patrick also worked as the host of the Hoosier Millionaire show, and as Sports Anchor on Channel 8 WISH-TV.
  Jane Pauley – A top-of-the-heap Indianapolis media star and respected television journalist, Pauley is best known for co-hosting Dateline NBC and The Today Show.
  Dave Smiley is the host of the Smiley Morning Show on WZPL 99.5, and folks have been waking up with the Smiley Morning Show since 2002.
  Marc Summers, current host of the hugely successful Food Network series, Unwrapped, was born in Indianapolis in 1951.
  Forrest Tucker – Born in 1919 in Plainfield, Indiana, Forrest Tucker played important supporting roles in over 100 action movies and television shows.
  John Michael Vincent – Better known as “JMV,” Vincent hosts a drive-time sports radio program on WFNI 1070 The Fan. He formerly hosted “The Drive” on WNDE 1260.
  Ed Wank hosts the Wank and O’Brien Show in the morning on WLHK-97.1 Hank FM along with Dave O’Brien. These two famous funny people bring in lots of laughs each weekday.
